Welcome to the December issue of AvonSpeak.
As we draw closer to the end of the fourth quarter, we pay homage to significant milestones we have achieved together.

The walk that started five years ago broke another record as 40,000 people walked the streets to step up for the cause. While the initial plan to hold a simultaneous walk event last October 4 had to be postponed due to the typhoon threat, it did not derail us from our commitment to women. What it brought us was an opportunity to gather more people and highlight its significance to commence. Our message for breast cancer became even stronger as it need not be boxed for the month of October, because this is a disease that affects so many lives daily.

During the past two months, we have witnessed the extent of damage brought by Typhoons Ondoy on the lives and properties of countless people living in the hardest hit areas- even our co- associates were not spared. And just when we thought we were on the road to recovery, another typhoon named Pepeng caused severe damage in areas of Northern Luzon. While its true that these calamities caused severe damage, it also made us even stronger as one AVON FAMILY.

The typhoon backdrop, however dire, did not affect our spirits to continue and maintain our number one position in Asia Pacific. And I am proud to note that if the trend continues, we will hit our forecast.

Our projects for strategic growth are on track to deliver growth. We couldn’t even be at a better position than where we are now. Continue to feel proud of your accomplishment and what you’ve done for Avon. None of the successes gained would be possible without your tireless hours and dedication to your craft. Congratulations, once again!

And quoting a line from the theme song of the film, FAME- We will make it to heaven! - As two-time crowned Chairman’s Bowl winners, with hopefully another one underway, we are poised for 2010 as the year for the Philippines to win the Avon FLAME!
